A bluebell spectacular in Micheldever Woods

It’s become a bit of an annual tradition in my household to take a special trip to Micheldever Woods each spring to catch the bluebells in all their glory. This ancient beech woodland is the place to go for a serious bluebell spectacle. We always head to the car park on Northington Lane from where you’ll find trails that take you into the woods and past several ancient archeological sites.

These are just a minor distraction though because if the bluebells are out they are definitely the main event. The woodland floor is transformed into a stunning sea of blue, set off beautifully by the fresh new canopy of lime green beach leaves. Find yourself there on a sunny day and it really is something quite magical.
